WHEN GOD BECOMES DISGUSTED Proverbs 1:24-32
The Lord is longsuffering and He is not willing that any should perish. He deals with men time and time again, but we are taught in Genesis 6:3 that His Spirit will not always strive with man.
There will come a time when God’s longsuffering and mercy will turn to disgust. · Proverbs 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. · Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: · Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: · Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient
These Scriptures spake of the Lost and God’s attitude toward the lost.
There are some things with which God is disgusted with His children…
I. WHEN WE FAIL TO PRAY A-Prayer is talking with God B-Prayer is an obstacle remover C-God needs some praying Christians who are willing to get on their face before God. 1-Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2-I Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing. 3-I Timothy 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
II. WHEN WE FAIL TO LIVE SEPARATED LIVES
A-God is disgusted when Christians fail to sever communications with the World. Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
B-When Christ moves in, Things become new. II Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
C-The Bible admonishes Christians to live Separated lives. I John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him
III. WHEN WE FAIL TO SERVE HIM A-There are many so called “Christians” pretending to serve God.
B-They serve him mechanically, but not from the heart.
C-The business of really serving God is to get to the place where God wants us.
IV. WHEN WE FAIL TO SOW THE SEED A-Many Christians are disgusting God because they fail to sow the seed in this darkening age. II Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
B-The Devil is working overtime to blind the eyes of the unsaved. II Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. |
