THANK GOD IT’S JUST SOME---I Timothy 4:1-3

The Apostle Paul was directed by the Holy Spirit to pen down three letters to young preachers. Each of these three letters deals with the Gospel:

I Timothy-------PROTECTING THE GOSPEL 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

II Timothy-----PREACHING THE GOSPEL 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Titus---PRACTICING THE GOSPEL  2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.

In our text, the Apostle wants Timothy to know that the Spirit of God has something important to say ”Now the Spirit speaketh expressly”

When the Spirit of God speaks, Saints and Sinners need to listen and take heed!

The message of the Spirit in our text is a message about “the latter times.”

I.                   THE CERTAINTY OF THE TIMES-II Tim. 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

       II. THE CONDITION OF THE TIMES

            A-Departure “depart from the faith” I Tim 4:1(Jude 3)

            B-Desire “giving heed to seducing spirits” I Tim 4:1

            C-Doctrine “and doctrines of devils” I Tim 4:2-3

            D-Delusion “conscience seared with a hot iron”

      III. THE CHALLENGE OF THE TIMES “Some”

***Thank God that the Spirit did not say “ALL” shall depart from the faith but only “SOME.”

Bible Believers often think that they are the only ones standing, but God help us to remember the message to Elijah during his time of discouragement!!!

“Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal…” (I Kings 19:18)

While Some Are Bowing To Baal, Others Are Battling For God!

While Some Are Leaving The Lord, Others Are Loving The Lord---Revelation 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

While Some Are Playing, Others Are Praying---Matt. 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

While Some Are Entertaining, Others Are Evangelizing Sinners

While Some Are Encouraging Sin, Others Are Exposing Sin

While Some Are Emphasizing Self, Others Are Exalting The Saviour

While Some Are Changing Doctrine, Others Are Charging The Devil

While Some Are Growing Cold, Others Are Getting Consecrated

While Some Are Following The Crowd, Others Are Following Christ!

While Some Are Flirting With The World, Others Are Forsake It!

While Some Are Getting Liberal, Others Are Being Loyal.

While Some Are Picking Apart Scripture, Others Are Preaching

While Some Are Into New Cars And New Clothes, Others Are Looking For New Converts

Some Are Careless, Others Are Crying

While Some Are Telling Jokes, Others Are Telling About Christ!
