JOY COMETH IN THE MORNING Psalms 30:5

Introduction:  I am speaking to you today on one of the laws of life. There are many laws which the Creator set in motion.

1.       The law of gravity. It is a law that something thrown up into the air will fall to the ground.

2.      The Seasons: spring follows winter; summer follows spring; autumn follows summer.

3.      The law of the harvest. Planting, growth and finally harvest.

·         Here we have stated a law which is just as real, and works just as much as do all the other laws—namely –the day follows the night.

·         May we look at this law in connection with our lives and particularly the Christian life.

I.       The Joy of Salvation Follows The Long Night of Sin.

·         I read of the woman in the Bible who was caught in the very act of adultery. She was such a sinful woman. A poor, fallen outcast from society. What a glorious moment it was for her when Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more".  (John 8:1-11)

A.     What a day it was for the woman at the well. She left her waterpots and rushed back into the city and told people to come and see what she had found.

B.      D.L. Moody said, after a faithful Sunday school teacher had led him to the Lord, in the back room of a Boston shoe store, "When I walked outside the store the birds were singing a sweetness I had never heard before".

C.    C.H. Spurgeon was saved in a little Methodist chapel, and as he walked home, after the service, he saw some crows in a field and he said, " I wish I could tell those crows of the love of God".

D.     One man was saved and went home and hugged his wife and kids and said, "I love you more than I ever have before." He then went out into his back yard and hugged his dog and said to him, "I just got saved, and I love you".

II.               The Joy of Restored Fellowship After The Long Dark Night of Being Away From God.

A.     David knew the darkness of the night of broken fellowship, and he cried for the day to come when he would be restored. (Psalms 23:3;51:12)

B.      A new day dawned for the old prodigal when he said,"I will arise and go to my father" Lk. 15:18

III.           The Joy of Answered Prayer After The Long Night of Waiting and Hoping and Thinking Maybe God Doesn’t Answer Prayer.

A.     Daniel prayed for weeks and nothing happened. Finally the angel came and said, "I am here with the answers." (Daniel 10:2-12)

IV.              The Joy of Victory After The Long Night of Defeat.

A.     The devil delights in putting us down. We get discouraged. Many quit the Christian life. It is hard. But I tell you if we stay with God He will give the victory.

V.                  The Joy of Heaven The Night of Death.

Rev. 21:4: "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away."
