We are surely living in a Great Falling Away…and the Nation of Israel is a very powerful nation in the Middle East…Perilous times are upon us…and the Word of God has been twisted to suit society and the Sound Scriptural Plain Truth is being rejected on Every Hand…There are signs in the Heavens that Christ’s coming is so near….It would be wise for Every man, woman, boy and girl to make their peace calling and election sure…because Christ could come at any moment.
I. CHRIST’S COMING IS A SCRIPTURAL REALITY IN PROMISE
A-The promises of Christ (John 14:1-3)
1-Christ Promised to Go to God the Father 2-Christ Promised to Send God the Holy Spirit 3-Christ Promised to Come Again for His Church
B-The promises of the Angels (Acts 1:10-1)
1-Angels announced Christ’s conception 2-Angels announced Christ’s birth 3-Angels announced Christ’s resurrection 4-Angels announced Christ’s coming again
C-The promises of the Epistles (Titus 2:11-13) 1-The Epistles give the doctrines of the church 2-The Epistles give the duty of the church 3-The Epistles give the destination of the church as it awaits Christ’s coming. II. CHRIST’S COMING IS A SURVIVING REALITY IN PERSERVERANCE—II Peter 3:3-9
A-Christ’s coming survives the changes of time (II Pet 3:3-9)-Time may destroy many hopes, but it can only increase the hope of Christ’s coming again.
B-Christ’s coming survives the unbelief of man (II Pet 3:3-9)
C-Christ’s coming survives over all common hardships in the saved person’s life. (James 5:1-8)
D-Christ’s coming survives death of all saints (I Thess 4:13-18)
III. CHRIST’S COMING IS A SANCTIFYING REALITY IN PRACTICE (I John 3:2-3)
A-This reality will set the saved apart in separation from the world. (Titus 2:11-14) 1-It will separate our affection from the world 2-It will separate our affiliation with the world 3-It will separate our activity in the world
B-This reality will set the saved apart for service (I Thess 1:7-10)
C-This reality will set the saved apart from sin (I John 3:2-3) |
