4. Is A Performed Course-vs 14 “He performeth” thank God!

1.       CHANGED OUR COURSE-Ephesians 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience

                a.  It Was A Course Of Death - Eph 2:1

                     To A Course Of Life - Eph 2:1

                b.  It Was A Course Of Disobedience - Eph 2:2

                     To A course Of Obedience - Eph 2:10

                c.  It Was A Course Of Disgrace - Eph 2:3

                     To A Course Of Grace - Eph 2:4-9

2.          FULFILLED OUR COURSE-Acts 13:25 And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not [he]. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of [his] feet I am not worthy to loose.

a.          John Pointed Men Away From Himself - “I am not he .. unworthy”

1.  Luke 17:10  So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have

                                done that which was our duty to do.

b.          John Pointed Others To Christ “one after Me”

1.  Phillipians 1:21  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 

3.  ESTEEMED OUR COURSE - Acts 20:24  But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God

                a.  Life of Self Denial

                          1.  Lu 9:23  And he said to them all, If any man will come

                     after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and  

                    follow me.

                b.  Life of Self Death

1.   Ga 2:19-20 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

3.          FINISHED OUR COURSE – 2 Timothy 4:7  I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my]course, I have kept the faith: 

                a.  The Course Involves A Fight

1.   1 Timothy 6:12  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life,whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 

                b.  The Course Involves A Finish

1.   1 Corinthians 9:24-27  Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.  And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.  I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. 

                c.  The Course Involves A Faith

1.   Jude 1:3  Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
