DR. JACOB’S REVIVAL PRESCRIPTION

Genesis 35:1-7

·        Jacob was in trouble

·        His Life was one series of perilous chapters

·        Yet when Danger darkened his pathway, He invariably turned to God

·        In Times of Prosperity we forget God, but Let depression come and the prayer line gets busy.

I.                   CREMATE CORRUPTING COUNTERFEITS

 
               A-He knew he had to bury the false gods. (Rachael had stole them from Laban her father.

B-He knew the difference from false and genuine.

II.                JACOB WAS AWARE THAT THERE HAD TO BE A TIME OF CLEANSING

A-We are often starched and ironed, but still need to be washed.

B-A good cleansing would change the color of our church today.

            1-We need to be cleansed from Carnality.

            2-We need to be cleansed from Cunning Craftiness.

            3-We need to be cleansed from Corrupt Communications.

III.             JACOB KNEW IT WAS NECESSARY TO CHANGE CLOTHING

A-The costume of correct conduct and character as a camouflage for conversion. (Mark 10:50- And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
