"COVERED WITH CONFUSION!" (JEREMIAH 3:25) In our text, the prophet Jeremiah spoke to the backsliding nation of Judah. He used these words to describe them: "We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us:" He then told the nation that the reason for their confusion was their REBELLION against God! Can we not see a resemblance in America today??? The further that a nation drifts from God, the more confused that it's people will be! We are living in a confused nation. Our Nation's foundations are being destroyed and people are forsaking God! Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?, What Was Once Against The Law, Is Now Protected By The Law! What Was Once Done In Secret, Is Now Done On The Street Corner! And What Was Once Heresy, Is Now Considered Orthodox! I. THERE IS CONFUSION IN POLITICS! A. They support MURDER, and call it abortion! B. They support SODOMITES in the name of "civil liberties"! C. They call PORNOGRAPHY an art form! (Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! D. They call DRUNKENNESS a disease! E. They oppose the DEATH PENALTY and allow murderers to go free! II. THERE IS CONFUSION IN PULPITS! A. They play with doctrines like kids play with toys! B. They lower their voices to raise their salaries! C. They preach the "love of God", but not the "wrath of God" D. They preach on Heaven, but never Hell! E. They stand for Traditions, rather than Truth! III. THERE IS CONFUSION IN PEWS! A. Confusion about SCRIPTURE! *Is there really such a thing as an INFALLIBLE BIBLE??? B. Confusion about SIN! *Is there really a moral standard for RIGHT and WRONG??? C. Confusion about SALVATION! *Can a man really know for SURE that he is saved??? D. Confusion about the SAVIOUR!
(Psalms 71:1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. ) Conclusion: As we enter into 2007, Let’s get ready to go to Heaven! We need to realize that God is not the Author of Confusion! Satan is the Author of Confusion, and we need to STAND for the Principles of the King James Bible, and Not Compromise nor allow ourselves to be Confused. Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. |
