COUNTING THE COST OF REAL  REVIVAL

Psalm 138: 7  Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

Introduction: Real revival means a time when God’s plans, God’s purpose becomes the ruling factor of our lives.  Our goals and ambitions which were once thought to be of the greatest importance take a second place to the will of God.  That is real revival!

WHAT ARE THE LASTING EFFECTS OF REAL REVIVAL?

How can we know when real revival comes?

I.        HEAVEN WILL COME DOWN

Pastors and Church Leaders will be broken by revival.  All that stands against Godliness will be broken and cast aside. Oh, that He would come down in our midst. We could then enjoy some of Heaven on earth.

II.      HABITS OF SELF-INDULGENCE WILL BE BROKEN

Unconfessed  Sins will be brought to light. When God is manifested in our midst, our sins will become exceedingly sinful. It will cause us to turn to God and forgiveness and cleansing will be received.

III.     HOLINESS BECOMES THE OBJECT OF OUR LIVES

To be like Jesus becomes the theme of our lives.

Romans 8: 29  “ For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be

conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many

brethren.” The scriptures become the basis of every day life. Revived People are a Holy people.

IV.     HYPOCRITICAL LIVES ARE CHANGED

Saints began to manifest the love of God toward one another. Forgiveness becomes easy. Grudges are wiped out and love dominates our lives.

V.      HEARTS BECOME BURDENED FOR SOULS

Nothing short of souls being saved satisfies the believer when revival is real. You become burdened for families and friends, that the same power that changed your life will do the same for them. That cry is real in your heart for God to touch others with His power.
