"COMING JUDGMENTS OF CHRIST"  HEBREWS 9:27 - 28

The subject of JUDGMENT is one that most professing "Christians" would love to ignore. 

They desire to live in their old sins, and be preached to concerning the love and goodness of God! 

They do NOT like to be reminded of coming judgments.

 However, the Word of GOD teaches that there are Judgments that are yet to come.

 1.  THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST--- (II Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.)

A.     The PERIOD  *After the Rapture!  (Luke 14:14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they

cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. )

B.  The PLACE  *In Heaven!  (II Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.)

C.  The PERSON  *JESUS CHRIST  (John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son )

D.  The PEOPLE  "we" refers to Saved People! (II Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. )

E.     The PURPOSE  *The Purpose of the Judgment Seat of CHRIST

·         IT IS NOT TO TRY THE BELIEVER ON PAST SINS

                                                                          i.      John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

                                                                        ii.      Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

                                                                      iii.      Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

·         IT IS TO TRY BELIEVERS ON THE PURITY OF THEIR SERVICE

                                                                          i.      I Corinthians 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

2.  THE JUDGMENT OF THE NATIONS (Matthew 25:31 - 46)

 *Many non-dispensational preachers interpret this text as a general judgment. 

A. They typify the "goats" as lost people, and the "sheep" as saved people. 

This is absolutely incorrect!

B. This text deals with the Judgment on Nations for their treatment of Israel during the time of Tribulation. 

·         The Sheep Nations (those who be-friend Israel) will enter with CHRIST into HIS Kingdom! 

·         The Goat Nations (those who betray Israel) will be separated and sentenced to Hell! 

3.  THE GREAT WHITE THRONE OF JUDGMENT ( Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. )

*This is no doubt the saddest judgment in the Scriptures!  All of the un-saved dead will rise to meet GOD and be sentenced to an eternity in a lake of Fire!

*Those meeting GOD at this judgment are without hope and will be without GOD for eternity.
