BUILDING BLOCKS OF THE BIBLE---Nehemiah 2:13
Intro. The first thing I notice about Nehemiah is the Burden that he Carried. Nehemiah was under the weight of a Vision.
There will never be any walls built for God. No stone to be laid upon the top of another without a Burden.
Illustrate: A New Pastor who had taken a church with a Great Legacy. Preached a message one time of "WHY IS THIS CHURCH SO GREAT"
In honesty there are no great Cities and No great Churches only Great Burdens that lie beneath that make them so great. No great preachers or Soul winners Just great Burdens.
(V.13)We see that the Burden came because of the place of viewing. For the Bible says that He went out by the night to view the walls.
NEHEMIAH…
I. GOT A VIEWING POSITION OF BROKENESS.
A. The Place of Strength B. The Place of Security C. The Place of Safety D. The Place of Solomons Temple
He viewed the places of Old were the Glory reigned, and now when he viewed it the scenes of Victory were turned to ashes. The walls were cast down and the temple erased, but in his heart he remembered the Glory once felt in this city and that Glory implored a great burden on the life of Nehemiah to rise up and build again.
How our churches need a burden. To go to the main streets of used to be churches used to be revivals. And view the broken walls.
II. GAINED A VALUABLE PERSUASION OF BUILDING.
A. The Price was Paid To build Chap#1 V8-9 B. The Passion was Perceived To build.
It's not brains, beauty , dollar bills that Build Legacy's for God it's a Burden.
Nehemiah’s presence is not found in the Bible for who he was, but Whom he served.
"Legacies are left by men willing to walk further than other men even dare to dream." III. WAS GRANTED A VICTORIOUS POSITION OF BLESSEDNESS.
A. The Test was Passed. · They said if even fox dare to run upon the wall
B. The Truth was Perceived · The city walls like God stood on watch while others slept
C. The Treasure was Planted · The fenced city once again was a fruitful hill
All Because One Man Dare To Carry About a Burden Big enough To Surround a Whole City. |
