BLESSINGS RECEIVED WHEN SHUT IN---GENESIS 7:1, 16

Not a joy to be shut in with sickness -shut in with God is a blessing

I. PLACE OF SECURITY FOR NOAH- GENESIS 7:1, 16

A. Man That Obtaineth Salvation –Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

B. Man That Was Special-Genesis 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. Walked:

· Agreement –Amos 3: 3- Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

· Accepted- Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

C. Man That Was Separated-Genesis 6:9- Just

· II Cor. 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

D. Man That Had Surrendered –Gen 6:9- Perfect

· Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect,will of God.

E. Man That Was Submissive

· Genesis 7:5 And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.

F. Man That Was a Servant

· II Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

1. Passion for souls

2. Preached judgment

G. Man That Had Security –

· John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

1. Family shut in

2. Flood shut out

II. PLACE OF SEARCHING FOR LEPER Leviticus 13:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, saying, 2 When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, or bright spot, and it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy; then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests: 3 And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean. 4 If the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague seven days:

Imagine, when there is sin in our lives, if we would shut ourselves in and examined ourselves for seven days

The Curse Verse 7 - -leprosy spreads, so does sin
The Confinement Verse 4 –
- I Cor. 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

A. Examine Our Living

1. Is it sincere -I John 1 :6

2. Is it scriptural- John 14:15

3. Is it spiritual- Psalms 42:1-2

B. Examine Our Love

1. For Christ -Matthew 22:37

2. For church -Psalms 122: 1

3. For Christians -I Corinthians 13:4, I John 1:7

III PLACE OF SUPPLYING NEEDS FOR WIDOW–II Kings 4:3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. 4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. 5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. .

· The widow had a problem -one problem she did not have -she knew where to take her problem -the Word of God (prophet)

A. Demands of Her Faith = borrowing (verse 3)

1. The facts -borrowing had caused her problem

2. The place -her neighbors -already borrowed all she could

3. The type -empty -she needed full -money -food -vessels

4. The amount -all vessels she could get

B. Directions for Faith -shutting (verse 4)

1. Sacredness of faith

2. Privilege of faith

C. Dedication of Faith -pouring (verse 5) -obedience
