A RAY OF LIGHT AT THE MIDNIGHT HOUR—Isaiah 50:10, 11 · Sickness is a Midnight Hour · When you or someone you love is diagnosed with a Terminal Cancer · When you or someone you love is diagnosed with Terminal Heart Disease Illustration—It helps you to see your need of God and you accept Christ as your Saviour. (Romans 8:28) · Death is a Midnight Hour · It was for Jesus · It was for Mary and Martha when Lazarus died Illustration---If Jesus had not died, we would all be doomed for Hell, but because he died we can go to heaven simply by accepting His plan of Salvation. (Romans 10:9, 10) · Being Put in Jail is a Midnight Hour · It was for Joseph · It was for Paul and Silas Illustration—If Joseph had not went through prison, He would not have been promoted in the Kingdom. If Paul and Silas had not been in Jail, the Jailor would not have been saved. · Job 5:7 Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward. · Job 14:1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. · Isaiah 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. · John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. INTRODUCTION: THE TRUTH ABOUT DARKNESS. · IT IS NOT UNUSAL for People in General to have dark days. Even God’s people are not an exception to the rule. Look at the dark days of Job, Jeremiah, Habakkuk, and John the Baptist. All these great men had their dark days. · IT IS NOT UNFRUITFUL for People to have dark days. There is much to learn walking through dark days. On one occasion, Jesus told the servants, what I show you in the dark, tell it in the light. · DARKNESS IS NOT UNENDING for People. The God that makes the clouds to cover the skies is the same God that will roll the shades of darkness up to let the light of day shine through. These verses will give us as Human Beings help to make it through the dark days: 1. LOOK TO THE LORD. Matthew 17:8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.---On the mount of transfiguration they saw no man but Jesus… · God wants us to just trust in Him. It is in days like this, when we find so many so-called-friends leaving us to walk in the dark alone. But, there is one we can depend on to be a true friend in dark day and that is our Lord. You can trust Him with your Problems, Pains, and for a Path out of the Problems.
2. LEAN ON THE LORD. John 13:23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. · When you have gone as far as you can go by sight, swim the rest of the way by faith. Don't worry or fret about your problems that makes the days dark, just lean on the Lord. A song writer wrote, "I'm learning to lean on Jesus." It would be wise for us all to learn to lean on Jesus.
3. LEAVE IT WITH THE LORD. Psalms 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Illustrate: Casting a fishing line…you leave it if you expect the fish to bite.)
· In order to enjoy the Light at Midnight, one must have the Light living inside them. In this dark hour, why not allow the Light of the World to indwell your heart and your soul. Be saved today, and attend a Bible believing Church. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and live for Him every day of your life. YOU NEVER KNOW WHO WILL LEAVE THIS WORLD NEXT.
