A LIVING LEGACY Galatians 2:20-21

Intro:
Enoch had the testimony" he pleased God"
Noah was a "preacher of righteousness."
Abraham was known as the "Father of the Faithful."
Moses saw the invisible and did the impossible.
David was a man after God's own heart.

Paul Here Connected As To Several Things:

2- (15-16 Justification By Faith
3- (17-18) Freedom Of The Law
4- (19-20) The Gospel
5- (21) The Grace Of God.

The testimony of the Apostle Paul is found in verse 21. What do you want to be remembered by?

I. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT I AM SAVED

"Saved" is the most frequently used work in the NT that refers to our salvation and relationship with God.

Men died saved or lost, no matter who they are or what position they hold. If saved should be safe-secure- and satisfied.

II. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT I AM OBEDIENT

If you are obedient God fills you with the Spirit. It is better to obey than to offer sacrifices. First you become a child of God then you become obedient.

Anyone who has not been baptized is living in disobedience.

III. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW I WAS A SEEKER OF THE TRUTH

Truth can be truthful and hurtful if not given in love. Love without truth is liberalism, but truth without love brings legalism.

Where do you find truth?

Catholics say in the Bible and in the church. They put church tradition by the Bible.

Liberals says it comes through the Bible and reason. The key to liberalism is what they can't figure out they throw out. To them there is no supernatural because it doesn't fit in their brains.

New Testament believers say there is one basis of truth--that being the Bible. You do not divide the written word and the Living Word.

Resolve to stand with the truth if you have to do it alone. Truth if crushed will rise again.

IV. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT I WAS A SOUL WINNER

God in his sovereignty has chosen that no one be saved without a human instrument. God uses teaching, preaching, and sharing of the Word of God.

The only person that God called wise was a "soul winner." (Prov.11:30).

V. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW I SERVED JESUS TILL THE END

It pays to serve Jesus. He can take our little and make it much.
